Eamon O’Regan

Director of Disability Research and Education

Eamon O’ Regan was born in Cork, Ireland. After graduating in 1991, he worked in the information technology field for Dell Technologies. In 2006, Eamon moved to the United States. Today, he calls Pensacola home. Photography is Eamon’s craft; he admits,”You will most likely see me with a camera.” Perhaps this passion for capturing the world around him arises from the fact that Eamon has a unique perspective on life. In 2019, he incurred an injury resulting in his paralysis. Naturally, this has impacted Eamon deeply: “I have seen the world differently ever since. And it needs to change. . . I know what it’s like firsthand to be discriminated against because of my disability.” Thus began his quest to advocate for change and educate others, especially on a local level. Eamon reached out to Trident upon learning about the organization through a local publication. After a series of interviews, he was appointed as Trident’s Board Chair. When he’s not working hard as an advocate or photographer, Eamon enjoys traveling; last year, he traveled solo to Australia and Argentina. Though he acknowledges that it was quite a challenge to haul his gear and wheelchair around, Eamon says the trip was “worth it!”

Angela Luttrell

Director of Public Outreach

New Orleans native Angela Luttrell has lived in Pensacola for the last 25 years. 16 of those years have been spent at Navy Federal Credit Union where Angela has held various positions including contact center account specialist, mortgage processor, and post-settlement reviewer of government loans. Her current title is Mortgage Underwriter IV, a role which allows her to be “productive yet efficient.” This is a skill set Angela draws from in her personal life as well. She has a true passion for helping others and is deeply invested in the happiness of those around her. It was this dedication to making positive change that first led Angela to her work with Trident. As a volunteer, she was inspired upon learning that the simple act of reading could make such a big impact. As Trident’s newly-appointed secretary, she hopes to make even more of an impact: “If everyone were to make an effort in any one way, the world would be a better place.” In her spare time, Angela likes to travel, garden, watch movies, and spend time with family, friends, and pets. She values making and cherishing memories because “time is precious in life.”

Laura Herbek

Director of Corporate Affairs

Huntsville, Alabama, native Laura Herbek has always had deep enthusiasm for helping others. This is reflected in her work as an award-winning instructor at the University of West Florida as well as in her wide range of nonprofit experience. A few of Laura’s favorite projects include organizing and managing food drives for homeless children, building outhouses and installing trailer skirting on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, collecting and delivering supplies for hurricane victims, fostering numerous animals, and donating over three gallons of blood. Holding an AA, BA, and MA in English with a creative writing focus, Laura has often used her research and writing skills to promote positive change via press releases, petitions, articles, grant applications, and academic textbook content. As Trident’s newly elected Treasurer, she hopes to continue working towards social justice by advocating for Pensacola’s disabled community. Although Laura does not identify as disabled, she says, “I know what it is to feel excluded, to feel unwelcome. I will fight for anyone who is made to feel that way.”
